Based on Act IV's resolution of each character's midsummer night's dream, what can we infer about Shakespeare's views on the nature of romantic love? If we consider what each character wanted when he/she entered the forest (objective), how they went about getting it while there (tactic), and the unforeseen problems that the forest presented and that they had to overcome (obstacles), what does the resolution of each character's story tell you? Are these characters allegorical? Do they represent some aspect of love about which Shakespeare has a few thoughts? What are those thoughts and what is the evidence you have from the text to support your assertions?Brainstorm and we'll discuss!
